To help entice educators to teach in Georgia, it is announced that, “If you are a teacher serving in a low-income or subject-matter shortage area, it may be possible for you to cancel or defer your student loans.” Some school districts are even promising signing bonuses, paid health insurance and subsided housing.
There is an estimated need for 50,340 Elementary School Teachers, 23,430 Middle School Teachers, 23,960 Secondary School Teachers and 39,540 Teachers Assistants ending in the year 2016.
