Now is the time to teach in Illinois. To provide more support to the influx of teachers, the Illinois New Teacher Collaborative (INTC) was created in 2004 by a diverse statewide group of educational stakeholders. The INTC provides information to new teaching professionals, teacher mentors, information for school administrators and “coordinates a network of services and resources through a statewide partnership of individuals and groups concerned with or interested in attracting and retaining new teachers and enhancing their ability to promote student learning.” This is just one of the benefits of teaching in Illinois.

There is estimated need for 62,460 Elementary School Teachers, 24,360 Middle School Teachers, 69,650 Secondary Teachers and 53,330 Teachers Assistant jobs ending in the year 2016.
