Job Description
As a computer teacher at a school, you’ll most likely teach students of various ages. At a junior college or university, you’ll probably teach adults. Topics will vary based on the skill level of the group, and introductory classes start with typing basics, utilizing the Internet for research, and commonly-used software. Advanced classes may include computer programming, computer ethics, graphics, website development, and career-specific computer skills.

Educational Requirements
If you want to teach at a school, you will be subject to the same requirements as any public or private school teacher including obtaining a license or teaching credential through the state board of education. If a trade school or junior college interests you, you’ll probably need an advanced degree or a bachelor’s degree combined with relevant work experience.

Job Outlook
Employment of all school teachers is expected to grow by 13% through 2018. Computer teachers should have above average opportunities because computer skills are so in demand.
